PRIYANK THAPLIYAL – Joined Sterlite Industries in 2000 as a USD 100 million firm, serving as deputy to owner Anil Agarwal and implemented the strategies that led to Sterlite becoming Vedanta Resources plc (including its USD 870 million London IPO), now a USD 7.5 billion company in just 6 years. Led Vedanta’s USD 50 million investment in Konkola Copper Mines, Zambia, in 2004, a stake currently valued at more than USD 1 billion. Former mining and metals investment banker with CIBCWM, Toronto, Canada. Qualified Metallurgical Engineer, MBA (Western Ontario, Canada) and former Falconbridge employee. ARNE FRANDSEN – Over 12 years of investment banking experience having started in 1993 with Goldman Sachs in London and subsequently with JP Morgan Chase. Identified, structured and executed capital raisings and M&A transactions in more than 20 countries worldwide - including resources transactions in South Africa, Africa, Europe and Asia. Founding CEO of Incwala Resources – one of South Africa’s largest BEE firms. BA and Master in Law from European University with postgraduate research and studies in Japan and South Africa. SEAN GILBERTSON – Former CEO of globalCOAL, a company owned by Accel-KKR, Anglo American, BHP-Billiton, Glencore International, Rio Tinto, Enel, EON, J-Power and TXU. Pioneered the coal industry’s "standard coal trading agreement" (SCoTA) and developed coal price indices for publication in the Financial Times and for derivative use. Co-founder of the innovative "Spectron eMetals" trading platform for Category I and II members of the London Metals Exchange. Former project finance banker with Deutsche Bank in London and Frankfurt with specific experience in the financial and legal aspects of power projects and public private partnerships. Qualified Mining Engineer. ANDREW WILLIS – Over 10 years experience in international finance, structuring and private equity. Spent 3 years with pan-European private equity investment manager Candover Investments plc. Finance Director of a number of resource related companies established by Pallinghurst Resources. ACCA Affiliate accountant with an INSEAD MBA. MOHAN NATARAJAN – Over 12 years of operational and project experience in copper, steel and precious metals plants in India, the Former Soviet Union and in Africa. Holds a UK MBA and is a qualified metallurgical engineer and part-qualified accountant. FINN BEHNKEN - Graduated as a mining engineer from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa having worked in coal and gold mining. He furthered his career by specialising in mining finance and spent 10 years with South Africa’s Nedbank serving, inter alia, as a non-executive director in relation to certain of its investments. Nedbank moved him to London in 2006 to develop their international mining lending business. He has had wide ranging interaction with small and mid-size listed mining companies across the commodity spectrum and has travelled extensively visiting mines around the globe. Mr Behnken joined Pallinghurst Resources in 2007.
